The
two rail operators have commissioned the firm Frost and Sullivan to
conduct a market research in three phases:
The study highlights the fact that it will be necessary to deploy the project beyond the freight generated by Express operators, to all air freight operators and shippers requiring rapid transit, currently transported by road. The study also shows that the opening to Germany remains an important issue.
Two areas have been identified:
- an East / West axis with
large volumes to be shifted from air to rail
- a North / South
axis (Amsterdam / Lyon) with a greater modal shift from road to rail.
